First off:

Biden was a huge enemy of the gun world with his DOJ aggressively going after legal gun sellers in order to support his partisan and false idea that legal gun commerce was responsible for surging crime in Democrat controlled cities, instead of lax on crime Democrat officials and policies. I am EXTREMELY happy that Kamala lost, it means I will at least have a chance at a future.

Knowing that I am in the better timeline is a great consolation as the Trump Slump 2.0 looms. I believe that the Trump Slump 2.0 is gonna pretty brutal thanks to the macro environment being a lot worse than the first time around.

With Trump Slump 1.0 we had a soaring economy, relative global peace and stability… and TS1.0 it took down two historic distributors in short order, AcuSport and Ellet Brothers. Overleverage seemed to be the biggest threat to the gun industry, with creative accounting by private equity firms (ala Remington) a close second. In the Trump Slump 1.0 with everyone from mom and pop shops to distributors bought too much on credit, thinking a Clinton presidency and panic was inevitable.

I was only able to avoid such a fate and downfall since no one was willing to extend me a line of credit! Countless brands and companies that spun up during the panic buying years of Obama (boom) eliminated by the harsh realities of the market at peace and with low demand (bust).

Setting aside partisan bias (trying my best lol) the last 4 years have been an absolute disaster in broad economic issues with monetary and fiscal policy that was unprecedented, reactionary, and bizarre. The consumer savings surplus of Covid, a long and distant memory as inflation has consumer debt surging and people struggling to cover basic expenses.

Trump is the absolute best option to take on the immense challenge of righting the ship, but you’d have to be absolutely delusional to think that tough times aren’t coming specifically for the firearms or tactical adjacent industry. Survival in it of itself will be a great victory. The America and President Trump of 2024 is a lifetime away from the America and Trump of 2016. The Trump Slump 2.0 is gonna be killer!
